About my Work

My art is the culmination of a 30 year exploration of process. What began as simple meditations on shape, color and technique has evolved into the transmutation of elemental and energetic principles to create portals that support the adaptation and expansion of consciousness.

More simply, my work utilizes the negative space of black ink to contextualize the organic flow of watercolor pigment. Sometimes I let the colors speak for themselves.

My relationship to esoteric Buddhism, love of indigenous Northwest coastal art, connection to words and sound, oolong tea, and deep commitment to abstraction all play an integral part in what comes through.

Artist’s Bio

I grew up in southwest Washington and lived in Portland, Oregon for 15 years before relocating to the west side of San Juan Island.

After two decades of working in the natural foods industry, I am currently restoring 10 acres with my partner and muse, creating a sanctuary where friends, family and others will be able to pursue creativity and healing.

When I’m not painting or working on the land, I write, run, listen to records, connect with my children, watch hummingbirds, or otherwise send positivity out into the universe.
